We truly wish we could wake up to a course full of snow, grumble about shoveling, bicker about driving in snowy roads and get back to the daily grind, but like many of you we either went to bed or woke up with the horrible news that fire had swept through the PLG Clubhouse, Pro Shop and Restaurant.
When we were notified our golf, grounds and the Food and beverage team came through the storm. We shed a lot of tears, huddled together and watched as fire ravaged our second home. We did it as a family, like we do when we work everyday.
This post is emotional. We are emotional. We are raw, broken hearted and hurt. Standing in the snow watching a fire rip away what we have worked so hard for and cherish took pieces of us with it.
Tonight we will sleep. We will shed more tears and try to rest. And than we will get up and we will gather again.
We will try to make sense of this and than we will do what we do best. We will make plans, we will stand together. We were planning our 100 year anniversary celebrations and eventually We will plan for 101. Golf will go on, tournaments will be played, brides will get married and eventually we will gather again and share meals and drinks and companionship.
For the next few days please let us regroup, grieve a bit and make our plans. We will reach out as we can, we have lost our computer systems and our group emails but will post here as we know more. If your a bride and groom, we will give you a wonderful wedding day, if your hosting a tournament it will go on. We lost a piece of history but not PLG itself.
